George J. Perk, Jr., a longtime resident of Brielle, formerly of Bernardsville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 12th surrounded by his loving family. George was born on February 13, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to George and Gertrude Perk, Sr. He was the second oldest of five children. George received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from University of Dayton and his masters in business administration from Case-Western Reserve. Before founding his own financial services firm, George worked at Olin Corporation, Buffalo Color Corporation and Brugemann Energy Futures, Inc. For many years, George greatly enjoyed working at American Futures Group, Inc., a company that he grew from five institutional clients to a global business with 25,000 accounts and 225 employees. In his leisure, George enjoyed spending time with his family, skiing and sailing his boat. A kind, loving, compassionate man, George will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Marta Aviles-Perk of Brielle and his three loving children, Wesley Perk of Brielle, Patricia and her husband, Chris Caponigro, of Bernardsville and David Perk of Jersey City. George was also the loving grandfather of Chase, Parker, and Zachary Caponigro. He is also survived by his older sister, Penny Aguas Taylor (Warren) and his younger brothers and sister, James Perk, William Perk, and Theresa LoPresti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday, Aug. 15th, at the Orender Family Home, 2643 Old Bridge Rd. Manasquan, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Denis Church, 90 Union Avenue, Manasquan, NJ on Tuesday, August 16, at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to American Bladder Cancer Society 399 Main Street Suite 2B Dalton, MA 01226-1612.
