Claudia DeLeo, 64 of Brick died peacefully at home on January 21. A graduate of Point Pleasant High School, she was born in New York and grew up in Bloomfield before settling in Brick. While she was a long-time employee of Barnes and Noble, friends and family knew her more for her insight and compassion, often delivered with a healthy dose of humor.
Claudia is survived by Allan C. Ball Jr., her husband of 22 years; her son Paul Bogan and his wife Iraida Valentin; her beloved Aunt Olga; brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo; her cats Nigel and Josie, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Leslie Long and Emil DeLeo, her brother, Scott Marlowe, and her beloved cat Norman.
She was lover of nature, photography, good jokes and meaningful conversation. Her gatherings were enlivened by good food, good company, and joy. She would probably want it to be known that her mashed potatoes were beyond reproach. She would also be vaguely embarrassed by all the fuss.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday January 28 from 1-3 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ with a “Celebration of Life Service” at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Calling All Cats Rescue, 1001 Fischer Blvd. PO Box 206, Toms River, NJ 08753.
