Obituary for Arthur Joseph D'Andria

Arthur Joseph D’Andria, 93 of Wall Township passed away on Thursday February 9, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Art was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Art proudly served his country as a machine gunner in World War II. Art was a natural born salesman with an easy demeanor and a silver tongue. He was a sharp dresser always made everyone smile and feel at ease. Art and his wife Martha owned their own gift shop “The Back Door” in Somerville, NJ. Art would love his days in the shop with his beloved wife and taking his daily strolls through town to visit all his fellow shop owners. When they retired, the couple moved to their beach house in Avon-by-the-Sea, where Art worked the grill like a master chef. Most recently Art was a fixture at “The Four Seasons” pool in Wall enjoying carefree days in the sun with friends and family.
Art was predeceased by his soulmate and wife of 60 wonderful years Martha. He is survived by his loving son Bob and his wife Theresa and their daughter Christie of Manasquan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday February 12, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Orender Family Home for Funeral 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736. Interment will be on Monday February 13, 2017 at St. Catharine’s Mausoleum 1100 West Chicago Blvd. Sea Girt at 11am.
