Edward H. Johnson, 88 of Wall passed away on Sunday July 9, 2017 at Tower Lodge Care Center, Wall. Edward was born and raised in Spur, TX. Edward served in the US Army as a photographer during the Korean War. After his military service in 1952 he moved to New Jersey. Edward and his wife Genevieve were married in West Belmar United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Mason’s Local 5-NJ and worked for the Monmouth Food Bank collecting and distributing food to the needy. Edward was dedicated to helping recovering alcoholics through Alcoholics Anonymous for over 40 years. Edward enjoyed gardening and working around the house.
Edward is survived by his wife of 64 years Genevieve Johnson of Wall, NJ; his four children and their spouses, Barbara Blank of Wall, Thomas Johnson of Dover, Cathy and John Mangogna of Brick and Scott Johnson of Brick. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers Jimmy and Jerry Johnson and a sister Joyce Lovelace all of Texas. Edward was predeceased by a granddaughter Dana Blank; a brother Walter Johnson and two sisters Lois and Doris.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday July 15, 2017 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, with a funeral service to begin at 1:30 pm.
