Obituary for William E Wilburn

William E. Wilburn, 79 of Howell passed away on Wednesday September 13, 2107 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Bill was born in Elkins ,West Virginia and had lived in Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Bill served in the United States Navy and was a diesel mechanic most of his life. He was a past chief and lifetime member of the Glendola Fire Company. Bill enjoyed playing softball; he was a coach for North Wall Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football; he was a baseball umpire in Asbury Park and Wall Township and an avid outdoorsman.

Bill was predeceased by his wife of 29 years Shirley (nee Brown) in 1989. He is survived by his children Dale Wilburn of Point Pleasant, Kathie Wilburn of Forked River and Michael and his wife Alexandra Wilburn of Howell. Bill is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two nieces Diana Lauterwasser and Vickie Aitchison and a nephew Harry Ditsche.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday September 18, 2017 from 7-9 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ with a fireman’s service to begin at 8:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 am on Tuesday September 19, 2017. Interment to follow at Glendola Cemetery, Wall.
