Raymond Joseph LaMonica, 76 of Toms River passed away on Thursday March 22, 2018 at Meridian Nursing and Rehab Center in Brick. Raymond was born in Newark and raised in Brick where he attended Central Regional HS. He was a member of a Doo-Wop group called the Dardanelles which started when he was in high school and continued for over 50 years. Raymond was employed by Kritch Signs and Rex Signs before starting his own business in Point Pleasant, Signs by Raymond in 1968. In his spare time Raymond loved going to horse races and raising tropical fish.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents John and Tessie LaMonica; three brothers John, R. Angelo and Eugene LaMonica and two nephews Eric Sharp and Eugene LaMonica. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Deanna “Dee” LaMonica of Toms River; a son Joseph Raymond LaMonica of Point Pleasant, two step-daughters and their husbands, Karen and Ted Kostich of Charlotte, NC and Christine and Bob McArthur of Brielle, NJ. Raymond is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday March 26, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ 08736. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday 10 am at Manasquan United Methodist Church 23 Church Street Manasquan, NJ. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
